Goodbye Brown Apples: GMO apples to be released next month. Is this real food or fake food?

As reported in the Smithsonian magazine GMO apples that don’t brown will be sold starting next month. Will they retain the same health benefits as organic apples? Or better yet what fruit is next…the orange, etc. For more here’s the article.
