If you own the Amazon Echo, or Google Home, both devices are capable to record your grocery list and store it for you: word for word after requesting its attention.

This is one of the perks of having a digital personal assistant.

Now picture this scenario: What if you ask Amazon’s Alexa to record your grocery list and provide the cost as well as the proximity of the closest supermarket to you and whether or not you want to pick up your groceries or having them shipped to you, — by drone or driverless car.

This is not a far fetched vision. This is real.

Which is why supermarkets need to act quickly, and I do mean quickly, by partnering with tech companies or risk being left behind holding the empty shopping cart.

The future is bright regarding the convergence of technology and supermarkets. Virtual reality and artificial intelligence will also be influential to enhance the grocery shopping experience.
